ABOUT

Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter biz barclay’s first single Idle Hands, was produced remotely during the pandemic by Seth Goodwin, and released in January 2021. Following the release biz played live acoustic shows in and around the city at venues like The Grape Room, Ortliebs, and the Olde Club at Swarthmore College.

Also a content creator, biz’s long-form video essays fusing philosophy and pop culture drew in the perfect audience for the haunting lyricism and deep, organic music style that she had been developing. Viewers of her channel quickly became attached to the “childhood trauma anthem” Burn Down the Farm after it was included in a video about the Netflix mini-series Midnight Mass, which prompted biz to release the demo for streaming.

The six tracks that make up Gomorrah are presented in the order in which they were written, over a three-year period of intense therapy and social upheaval. Produced alongside Philadelphia’s Will Brown, Gomorrah is full of triumphant chords and syncopated drums, layered with eerie harmonies, strung together by a raw, poetic lyricism.

Gomorrah will be available to stream everywhere April 26th, 2024.
